Basic Income Forum conference in May

The BIG Forum 2024 registration is now open! The event offers various categories and a new program. English and French closed captioning will be available for the Thursday evening event. In-person registration has early bird rates and tiered fees. There are options for individuals and groups, including reduced rates for low-income participants. Ottawa-area residents can share passes. Additional donations for low-income support are welcomed.

Virtual registration will come later with individual and group rates. Participants cover their travel and accommodation costs, though some subsidies may be available for low-income attendees. The Forum will be held at the University of Ottawa from May 23 to May 26, with accommodation options ranging from hotels to university residences.

Subsidies for low-income participants are being worked on, prioritizing basic income pilot participants, wider network members, and those with unique perspectives. Full subsidies aren’t guaranteed, and alternative funding sources are encouraged. Those able to help support others are encouraged to reach out.

With Bill C-223 approaching its second reading in the House of Commons, it’s time to make some noise and raise awareness about basic income!  Register to participate now!
